This was a new event that I was super excited to be a part of. Saturday was my first time at the Okinawan Craft Fair in Gardena hosted by the Okinawa Association of America.
Somehow I didn't even know about the association until a customer at a craft fair in Hawaii had mentioned it to me. It's been on my list of events to do ever since. Lucky for me, the date was changed from the usual weekend of previous years. It would have conflicted with my recent trip to Japan, so I'm glad it ended up working out.
I've done events with the Hawaii United Okinawa Association for years and participated in my first Okinawan Festival in Hawaii last year. I didn't know a craft fair that was Okinawan themed existed in SoCal. I love that I was able to introduce Hello Sushi to the community and hope to get more involved in the future.
